On minority status
There is a strong impulse in the childfree community to avoid adopting a minority label for ourselves. Comparisons to LGBT are frequent and often met hostilely. I understand that gut reaction- we are not subject to the routine violence of many minorities for instance, and our whole shtick is built around the words "by choice".
However, I don't share those misgivings. I believe that we are as much of a minority as any other.

The step by step guide to UK frugality - Introduction
This post is born out of frustration.
Frustration of being bombarded with information, frustration from USAcentric tips, and frustration from a sort of person who cannot understand that there is life outside of a city.

It occurred to me that there is no way that I could work this into a post. But it's too crazy to leave unattended, so here it is. All mothers everywhere at all times are immune to criticism because global warming. Makes sense.

Wild theories about "Child Hate"
It's Sunday morning, early enough that I can almost convince myself it's still Saturday night, almost.
I mention this not to pass the time, but rather as mitigation.
Bordering stream-of-consciousness levels of logic (bad, bad logic, logic that really needs to be tied up and told off) follow this pagebreak. You have been warned.

You'll change your mind
Imagine you go to a restaurant with a friend, and they decide that the best thing on the menu is the lasagne.
You, however want to order the risotto. Perhaps you don't like pasta*. Perhaps you think that lasagne is a fine choice, it's just not what you want.
But your friend insists they are right. So right that they order the lasagne then send the waitress away because they think you should give it another hour, just in case you want to change your mind.
